Latest News May 10, 2010 Laramie Wyoming Fellowship of Christian Athletes has joined with Courts for Kids to go to Look Development to build a basket ball court for the children at the Shone project. They will be gone May 12th- May 22nd. Please keep them in your prayers. Check back for photo's we will post after their trip! We are thankful for Scott and Angie Duncan who sponsor Adisu from Look Dev. Shone. They did a fundraiser of selling Look Development Coffee Mugs for uniforms for the children at the Look Development Shone project. The Spearfish group sold each mug for $15 which covered the cost of the coffee mug and a new uniform. They sold enough to buy two hundred uniforms! Thanks Duncan's and all who helped them out- now two hundred children will be in uniforms because of your communities love in action! We are hoping to do it again so check back for details or if you would like to sell mugs in your community contact Amanda at (406) 446-1648. As I heard about Look Development I wanted to respond to what God was laying on my heart. Using the talents He’s given me, I created Miles of Purpose to help meet the needs for the children in Look Development. I combined my love of running with the compassion I had for the Ethiopian children. I committed to run 300 miles in the course of 2 months and asked family and friends to sponsor each mile I ran, donating the gifts to Look Development. As I ran I carried pictures of the children and prayed for them; their beautiful smiles motivated me to keep running. The name Miles of Purpose came from Jeremiah 29:11-13. God gave me a new understanding of the purpose each child in Look Development has. My prayer is help meet the daily needs of the children as God works in their lives to fulfill the incredible plans He has for each of them.
